WHAT IS ABA?

With hard work, love and science, anything is possible!

ABA is Applied Behavior Analysis. It is the science of human behavior applied to help improve the lives of different types of individuals. It utilizes evidence-based, empirically validated interventions to improve skill deficits and reduce negative behaviors. There is a strong focus on family involvement and the work is done in the child’s natural environment. The work is not complete until the child shows success in his/ her “real world” outside of therapy sessions. Data is analyzed continuously along with developmental evaluation tools to constantly set and achieve short and long-term goals individualized for each child.

WHAT CAN WE HELP WITH?

Our goal is to address deficits in any area: communication, social, functional, etc., and to reduce dangerous behaviors.

Using evidence based techniques, hard work, consistency and working with families we aim to reduce behaviors that are dangerous, maladaptive, unmanageable and those that prevent your child from succeeding at home, school and in the community.

WHAT DOES A SESSION LOOK LIKE?

Therapy sessions look different depending on the needs of your child.  They are a dynamic combination of seated time, running around and “playing” while using techniques to facilitate communication.

Sessions can range from 2 to 8 hours. Programs and procedures are being run continuously with constant data collection.

The practitioners are educated, experienced and creative so they are able to get “work” done in ways your child can enjoy. “Work” is always being done but this can look like letters on a table, walking outside for street safety, playing connect 4 to work on turn taking skills, and more.

Every session is as unique as every child.
